Symmetricom’s Indian arm bags 4G equipment contracts
US-based Symmetricom's Indian arm is learnt have signed two deals with Indian broadband wireless access spectrum holders for supplying 4G equipment worth $20 million.
Symmetricom makes timing and synchronisation products and will deliver solutions for lower call drops for telecom operators. The company also sells products directly to service providers or indirectly through gear maker partners like Nokia Siemens Networks, Ericsson and Avaya that include Symmetricom's products in managed services contracts.
The company is reported to have closed two deals for backhauling of LTE traffic with private operators. The each contract holds for a period of three years. The value of each contract ranges between $300,000 and $10 million, depending on the number of installations in a telecom circle.
