HCIL bags contracts worth Rs 1500 million
Hughes Communications India Limited (HCIL), a subsidiary of Hughes Network Systems, LLC, has won contracts worth Rs 1500 million from banks and other public and private institutes in the first half of 2013.
According to the company, it has received multiple orders from leading banks to provide managed services to over 800 locations across India. HCIL has also inked a strategic deal with Tata Communications Payment Services Limited (TCPSL). As part of the deal, the former will be establishing ATM machines for TCPSL at about 600 locations. In addition, HCIL has also been chosen by players such as Punjab and Sind Bank, Bombay Stock Exchange, and British Gas to establish and maintain end-to-end satellite broadband connectivity at multiple locations across the country.
Commenting on the development, Shivaji Chatterjee, head, enterprise business, HCIL, says, “Achieving a steady growth of 18-20 per cent in the enterprise satellite segment in a challenging business environment indicates that there is an ever increasing demand for easily deployable, reliable, broadband connections in remote locations or in areas underserved by terrestrial services in the market.”
Chatterjee, adds, “Going forward, HCIL continues to see the banking and financial services industry as the big growth driver of the company’s managed services portfolio in India followed by the e-governance, defence and small and medium enterprise segment.”
