Tata Communications likely to ink a strategic deal with Etisalat

October 03, 2013

Tata Communications is likely to enter into an agreement with United Arab Emirates (UAE)-based telecom group, Etisalat to build a multi-service regional network infrastructure at the latter’s SmartHub facility in the UAE.

This infrastructure would include a core network node in the SmartHub facility which will be used to offer enhanced connectivity between Etisalat’s multiprotocol label switching and ethernet and internet protocol-based services and the Tata Communications global network.

The network once completed, would enable direct routing of traffic between the Middle East and Africa, Asia and Europe. The new network will be supported by Tata Communications’ global network, including its TGN-Gulf cable system. This will enable enhancement of in-region routing, along with direct connectivity to Kenya, South Africa, Pakistan, India and Europe.
