Batelco and Ericsson have signed an agreement as per which the latter will help the operator expand its long term evolution (LTE) network and wideband code division multiple access network in Bahrain.

Ericsson will install new LTE base stations in Bahrain and upgrade Batelco’s evolved packet core network. The telecom equipment vendor will also deploy its Diameter Signaling Controller router to facilitate roaming service on Batelco’s LTE network.
