Alcatel-Lucent inks a strategic deal with Telefonica

Alcatel-Lucent has entered into an agreement with Telefonica to provide it with 4G long term evolution (LTE) equipment in Spain.
Alcatel-Lucent will deploy about 8,000 4G LTE base stations and the 5620 service aware manager to help Telefonica launch and expand its 4G LTE network. In addition, the telecom equipment vendor will also provide Telefonica with turnkey project management services as well as support for systems integration, maintenance and network optimisation.
