Reliance Globalcom upgrades its undersea cable system

Reliance Globalcom has upgraded the FA-1 south submarine network to meet the increasing demand for bandwidth, owing to the uptake of cloud computing and video services.
This has been carried out using Ciena Corporation's GeoMesh solution.
Commenting on the network upgrade, Punit Garg, president and chief executive officer, Reliance Globalcom, says, "Ciena Corporation's unique GeoMesh solution enables us to quickly and significantly increase the information carrying capacity across our critical FA-1 submarine cable network while eliminating complexity and latency along the critical corridor serving data centers in New York and Paris."
