Indian digital security market to grow at 8.3 per cent in 2015, says Gartner
As per the research and advisory firm, Gartner, the digital security spending in the country is expected to grow at 8.3 per cent, reaching Rs 73.74 billion in 2015.
According to Gartner, the strong growth in the security services market will be primarily because of the fact that customers are increasingly using external services to transform their security posture in this digital business era. Further, the spending would be spread across hardware, software and services sectors such as consulting and supporting security solutions. However, expenditure on security services would be much higher than on the other services.
The firm has also observed that apart from buying preventive security solutions, businesses are realising the need for continuous security support throughout the year. Digital security would also be needed for government and citizen-centric services in future and not just for business and enterprises. Gartner is of the view that digital security will be an important component of the government’s Dgital India programme.
