The demand for smartphones in China is steadily increasing: Analysys International

The demand for smartphones in China is on the rise. According to an Analysys International, close to 77.11 million smartphones were sold in the second quarter of 2013.
In comparison, in the previous quarter, close to 90.39 million units were sold in China. Overall, smartphone sales witnessed a 0.2 per cent quarter-to-quarter decline and a 36 per cent year-on-year increase.
Company-wise, the report states that Samsung, Lenovo and Coolpad are the leading players in this space. Their market shares stood at 18.2, 11.1 and 9.8 per cent respectively.
