Vodafone India launches Wi-Fi offload application
Vodafone India, the country's second largest telecom operator, has rolled out Wi-Fi offload application, which helps shift data traffic away from the cellular network and help decongest the network.
Vodafone Wi-Fi Connect is available on Android and iOS platforms and requires a onetime sign-in by users accessing internet through Wi-Fi hotspots. The application can be accessed by the operators’ subscribers in Delhi and Mumbai circles. At present, Vodafone has 100 such Wi-Fi zones in the two circles.
The operator has introduced the Wi-Fi offload application to address subscriber complaints about inconsistent data speeds over the cellular network, with 3G data download speed slowing down to 2G speed frequently with growing mobile internet usage.
