Huawei launches AR G3 access routers

March 18, 2011

Huawei has unveiled the AR G3 enterprise access router at CeBIT. The AR G3 access router adopts the latest third-generation router architecture, supports mobile and fixed WAN (wide area network) access and meets the multi-service processing requirements of enterprises.

With a rapid increase in the demand for enterprise services, such as enterprise video, voice, and security services, the IP network has become a unified platform for all ICT (information and communication technology) services. To be able to provide full IT services, enterprises need to establish a highly-efficient ICT system as a key part of their communications infrastructure.

“As an interface that bridges the enterprise network and the external network, the access router plays an important part in an enterprise network. Based on our insights into IT and Telecom services, Huawei launched the AR G3 access router for enterprises to support multi-services,” said Li Weishi, president of Enterprise Network Product Line, Huawei. “The AR G3 access router uses the industry-leading architecture, offering innovative features for various enterprise networks, which could meet enterprise demands for a high-performance router.”

The AR G3 access router uses multi-core CPUs and a non-blocking switching architecture and provides 3M pps processing performance and 80 Gb/s switching capacity that are  two times the average in the industry, ensuring premium service experience for every user.  The multi-core and multi-thread technologies process services effectively and the non-blocking architecture improves bus-based forwarding performance, thereby ensuring the service quality.

The AR G3 access router provides the most comprehensive wireless and fixed network interfaces in the industry, enabling flexible networking in an enterprise. It supports various 3G (CDMA2000/WCDMA/TD-SCDMA) standards to provide wireless connections for mobile offices. The device also has various wired interfaces such as ETH, E1, XDSL, XPON (can scale to 10 G PON), offering flexible access for all terminals anytime and anywhere. Moreover, the AR G3 router integrates services such as UC, multimedia gateway, Ethernet Switch, anti-attack, antivirus, and Internet access management and provides full protection to ensure secure access of services. The AR can meet the requirements for the one-stop office in an enterprise with 1 to 500 staff and the office in large enterprise branches.
