ZTE showcases an entire lineup of LTE base stations
ZTE Corporation, a leading global provider of telecommunications equipment and network solutions, today announced the company’s participation in the Mobile World Congress 2011 in Barcelona, Spain. ZTE showcased an entire lineup of LTE base-stations at the show.
In addition to the distributed base-stations most widely adopted at present, the company also introduced the industry’s first all-in-one micro-station that is smaller than 13L; as well as the all-in-one indoor/outdoor macro base station- to meet the deployment needs of the operators across different scenarios. Among them, in the leading position of the industry, the all-in-one LTE micro base station is small and light-weight, supports multiple frequency bands, is widely applicable and can meet the needs of operators for flexible deployment, hotspot coverage, and blind zone coverage. As of Feb 2011, ZTE had 15 contracts signed for the commercial use of LTE with global operators.
ZTE sees LTE as a strategic product in the mobile broadband communications era. Assigning 4000 researchers to participate in its development and promotion across the globe, ZTE ensures it can provide powerful support to meet customers’ needs in the commercial LTE market, in both manpower and equipment.
ZTE has increased efforts in the research of LTE standards; as of November 30, 2010, ZTE declared to ETSI 235 essential patents (EPs) that must be used by LTE standards, accounting for 7 per cent of the total number of EPs for LTE that had already been declared, securing ZTE’s entrance into the Tier-1 Camp in terms of EPs for 4G standards. In 2011, ZTE will continue to enhance cooperation with global operators in the LTE field with respect to both commercial application and test application.
ZTE’s continued investment in R&D, its leading SDR technology in China and even the globe, and its customized product solutions have successfully promoted the development of the wireless communications industry. In recognition of its outstanding performance in the SDR technology and equipment market, Frost & Sullivan named ZTE 2010 SDR Equipment Vendor of the Year at the end of 2010, and also awarded the Frost & Sullivan Best Practice Awards (BPA) to the company.
