Etisalat DB is planning to enter into a Rs 15 billion outsourcing deal with Wipro Technologies. Under the agreement, Wipro will manage the IT infrastructure and services for the telecom operator and set up servers, enterprise resource planning systems and other software needed for billing and customer care operations.
The two companies are reportedly working out the tenor of the agreement, and the deal is likely to be finalised by September 2009. This would be the second largest deal for Wipro in the telecom space. In April 2009, the IT company was awarded a Rs 25 billion IT outsourcing contract by Unitech Wireless.
