The Department of Telecommunications (DoT) intends to conduct the auctions for 3G spectrum in August after it resolves issues relating to the reserve price of 3G spectrum and the number of slots to be auctioned, with the finance ministry. However, since both the ministries have so far been unable to reach a consensus, the prime minister is likely to intervene, which might delay the process further.
