Idea Cellular has forayed into the international long distance (ILD) business, and is negotiating interconnect agreements with international operators for direct routing of calls. Currently, Idea routes the majority of its international traffic through other ILD operators, predominantly Bharti Airtel and Tata Communications. The company is also ramping up its NLD infrastructure to carry more traffic on its networks.
