TRAI has sought stakeholder views on the road map it has drawn up for telecom companies to migrate from their existing infra structure to next-generation networks (NGNs). The regulator has also sought the industry's view on who should regulate the space and how the process is to be executed. Many Indian telecom companies have already started migrating to NGN in a phased manner. According to TRAI, operators must be provided with a stable regulatory and policy framework so that they can take the risks associated with NGN deployments.
