Acommittee set up by DoT to consider the issue of revenue splitting between 2G and 3G services has ruled out the possibility of such a bifurcation on practical grounds. According to a DoT internal note, though it is technically possible to use complex software tools and call data records to distinguish traffic carried on 2G and 3G spectrum, such a computation would be exponentially complex to verify and audit.
