TRAI releases study paper on "Financial analysis of the telecom industry of China and India"

Arecent study, "Financial analysis of the telecom industry of China and India" by TRAI indicates that the minutes of usage (MoU) in India are much higher than in China. In India, the MoU in 2004 was 330 minutes per month compared to 297 minutes in China. The usage of both preand post-paid customers was higher in India.
ARPUs, on the other hand, are much lower in India than in China.
The ARPU in India was $9.04 per month as compared to the $9.69 per month seen in China. According to TRAI, there is a huge contrast in the subscriber base of the two countries.
