In a move to allow more operators to enter the wireless broadband space, DoT is considering auctioning spectrum in smaller chunks of 5 MHz instead of 10 MHz, as suggested earlier. According to sources, the move will allow as many as 20 operators in the wireless broadband space given that DoT has earmarked about 80 MHz of spectrum in the 2.5 and 2.3 GHz bands for this segment.
