The new telecom licensees have been allotted the 5-digit mobile switching centre (MSC) codes (the first five digits of the 10-digit cellular number) by DoT. MSC codes have been given to all operators who signed unified access service (UAS) licences with DoT during the past two months. The current MSC code series starts from 90530 and goes up to 91759. The allotment of these codes is a precursor to the distribution of spectrum.
