UK-based Cable & Wireless has been awarded national and international long distance (NLD and ILD) licences by DoT. The company will offer its services directly to customers in India through its joint venture with the TTK Group – Cable & Wireless Networks India. The licences will enable the company to roll out its next generation network (NGN), which will serve both customers that need to do business in India, and Indian companies that want to expand operations globally.
