BPL Mobile plans to invest Rs 7 billion in 2005-06

According to news reports, BPL Mobile plans to invest Rs 7 billion Ain 2005-06 for augmenting capacity and expanding network coverage. More than Rs 2 billion will be invested in Tamil Nadu alone to expand BPL's reach to 100 more semi-urban and rural areas. The company is also planning to augment capacity to cater to 1 million additional customers in Tamil Nadu. Over 60 per cent of the total investment will go to the semi-urban and rural areas and to improve teledensity in the state.
