Bharti to spend Rs 1.75 billion for expansion of its mobile network in Jammu & Kashmir

Bharti has announced that it will spend Rs 1.75 billion for expansion of its mobile network in Jammu & Kashmir as it aims to be the largest private cellular operator in the state. Within six months of operations, Bharti has registered a customer base of 100,000. So far, the company has spent Rs 1.15 billion in building mobile infrastructure in Jammu & Kashmir. The company plans to spend another Rs 600 million in 2005-06 to take its mobile services to all parts of the state.
