COAI has released ARPU figures for GSM players for the period January-March 2005
The Cellular Operators Association of India (COAI) has released average revenue per user (ARPU) figures for GSM players for the period January-March 2005. Cellular operators have registered a 1 per cent increase in ARPUs, from Rs 396 per month (in October-December 2004) to Rs 400 per month in January-March 2005. Hutch continued to register the highest ARPU at Rs 469.93, followed by Bharti at Rs 427.90, Idea at Rs 381.17, Reliance Telecom at Rs 322.39 and BPL at Rs 310.57. During this period, Hutch's ARPU witnessed a 3 per cent decline over the OctoberDecember 2004 quarter while Bharti, Idea and BPL registered an increase of 3.42 per cent, 1.35 per cent and 3.23 per cent respectively. By region, the Delhi circle recorded the highest ARPU at Rs 514.50 followed by Mumbai at Rs 483.20.
