Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (VSNL) is planning to launch wireless broadband services on the Wi-Max platform by January 2008.
The company is planning to invest $500 to $600 million for rolling out Wi-Max services in 35 cities across the country over the next three years. Meanwhile, the company is also planning to construct a $250 million cable system for linking Mumbai with Paris, London and Madrid via Egypt. The cable system, named TGN Eurasia, will be built in partnership with Seacom and Telecom Egypt.
