DoT has given in-principle approval to Tata Teleservices Limited (TTSL) and Tata Teleservices (Maharashtra) Limited for starting GSM-based mobile services across the country. The two companies had sought DoT's approval in end-2007 after DoT allowed RCOM, Himachal Futuristic Communications Limited (HFCL) Infotel and Shyam Telelink to offer both GSM and CDMA services.
