DoT has cleared the applications of Idea Cellular, Vodafone Essar and Aircel for grant of 2G spectrum in circles where they currently hold licences but do not have spectrum. While Idea holds licences for two such circles, Vodafone and Aircel have licences for six and 13 circles respectively. Meanwhile, Reliance Communications (RCOM) has reportedly been allotted 4.4 MHz of startup spectrum in 14 circles for rolling out GSM services.
