As part of its mobile service expansion plan for Orissa, BSNL will place equipment orders for providing 850,000 new mobile connections. The purchase order will include equipment for 700,000 2G connections and 150,000 3G connections. The mobile capacity augmentation project is expected to be commissioned within a year.
