DoT has reportedly allocated additional spectrum to BSNL for mobile services in 17 circles. BSNL now has 10 MHz of spectrum each in 16 circles. In West Bengal, it has around 8.8 MHz. In comparison, only a few private operators, such as Bharti Airtel, Vodafone Essar and BPL Mobile, have been allocated 10 MHz of spectrum till now in high density circles like Delhi and Mumbai.
