Reliance Infocomm has posted a net profit of Rs 510 million for 2004-05. This profit is reportedly the result of "other income" of Rs 2.16 billion reported in the fourth quarter of 2004-05. The other income includes a one-time interest income of Rs 1.7 billion and exceptional items of Rs 460 million. The company had posted a loss of Rs 3.9 billion in 2003-04. Reliance Infocomm has reported a 470 per cent rise in EBITDA (before accounting for other income) to Rs 9.12 billion in 2004-05, compared to Rs 1.6 billion in the previous year. After adding other income of Rs 2.16 billion, the EBITDA stood at Rs 11.29 billion in 200405. After interest (Rs 1.29 billion), depreciation (Rs 9.45 billion) and tax (Rs 40 million), the profit after tax stood at Rs 510 million, compared to a loss of Rs 3.9 billion in the previous year.
The cash profit for 2004-05 stood at Rs 9.96 billion, as opposed to Rs 1.6 billion in 2003-04.
