Bharti Airtel Singapore, a subsidiary of Bharti Airtel, has been awarded a facility-based operator licence in Singapore. The licence will enable the company to operate international carrier facilities from Singapore. Bharti Airtel will establish two points of presence in the country, one for cable interconnection at the landing station and the other for providing connectivity to service providers and local carriers. Bharti Airtel's multiple cable systems, which include Network i2i, SEA-ME-WE-4, AsiaAmerica Gateway, APCN2, EAC and C2C, will reportedly converge at Singapore, making Singapore the interconnection centre for Airtel's traffic between India and over 90 countries around the world.
