TRAI has asked the European Union to allow Indian telecom companies to negotiate with their European counterparts to reduce roaming costs. Recently, the European Parliament approved a plan to reduce roaming tariffs across the continent by 75 per cent. TRAI wants Indians travelling to Europe to enjoy the new roaming tariffs. In return, Europeans travelling to India will be granted the same concession.
