RCL and Bharti Airtel are set to enter the race to acquire a 26 per cent stake in state-owned Kenyan telecom operator Telekom Kenya. The Kenyan government will sell the stake to a strategic equity partner through international bidding, expected to begin on April 25. According to sources, the stake is worth $1.5-$2 billion. Telekom Kenya has about 300,000 fixed line subscribers and a combined average revenue per user of $40 per month.
