IBM looking to partner with Indian operators for its data analytics tools

August 28, 2015

IBM is optimistic about entering into partnerships with several of India's telecom operators for implementing analytics tools. These tools will help operators earn higher revenue from their existing customers and improve their data product offerings by better understanding customer demands.

IBM is reported to be in talks with Vodafone India and Reliance Communications, among other companies in this regard. Further, the company’s existing outsourcing contracts with Vodafone India and Idea Cellular will come up for renewal soon. Also, IBM is already managing Bharti Airtel's infrastructure and application services, including analytics in India.

US-based IBM is betting big on the uptake of its data analytics products in the Indian market, as operators have increased focus on data services. The overall data ecosystem in the country is maturing with advent of next generation technologies, increasing availability of affordable handsets and due to competitive tariffs.
