Nokia Networks procures 30 contracts in India in the first-half of 2015
Finnish network equipment provider, Nokia Networks has won 30 contracts in India in the first-half of 2015. These contracts include one of the largest IP multimedia system (IMS) deployment deal to enable provision of voice over long term evolution (VoLTE) and several managed services deals. The company expects this momentum to continue in the second half of 2015, as operators are increasing their capital expenditure on building data networks.
According to the company, these deals have helped the company to achieve highest revenue growth since 2008. It has also stated that lifting of regulatory uncertainty, availability of liberalised spectrum, data growth and its monetisation for telecom operators has further enabled Nokia to procure more contracts this year in comparison to 2014, during which it had bagged a total of 35 contracts.
Nokia Networks' global revenue grew year-on-year by 6 per cent to $2.99 billion for the quarter ended June 2015. According to the company, India is one of the fastest growing markets in terms of year-on-year growth.
