MTNL reports net loss of 7.45 billion for the quarter ended June 2015
MTNL has reported a 1.6 per cent increase in net loss from Rs 7.33 billion for the quarter ended June 2014 to Rs 7.45 billion for the quarter ended June 2015. The total income from operations has also decreased from Rs 8.56 billion to Rs 8.04 billion during the same period. Further, the operator’s expenditure on revenue sharing and roaming charges decreased by Rs 0.34 billion. The operator has attributed the decline to abolition of termination charges on fixed wireline and change in regulations on roaming charges.
Revenues from basic (fixed line and broadband) services continue to dominate the operator’s revenues. This segment reported revenues of Rs 6.41 billion for the quarter ended June 2015, a decrease of 4.4 per cent from Rs 6.7 billion in the corresponding quarter in 2014.
