Aircel boosting network capacity to meet growing data demand
Aircel is boosting its network capabilities to support growing demand for data services from subscribers.
To meet the growing demand for high capacity video consumption and heavy usage of social content over Facebook, WhatsApp, Flickr and Twitter, Aircel is optimising its existing network as well as adding capacity through network rollout by establishing new telecom sites. The operator is also making its network IP-enabled to bring in efficiencies and further improve customer experience.
At present, the operator has 3G spectrum in 13 circles and 4G spectrum in eight circles. Aircel is yet to launch 4G services. Meanwhile, with an aim to boost data services and provide incentives to voice customers, the operator has also introduced voice calling offers on data recharges for its subscribers.
