Infocus targeting a revenue of $1 billion by March 2017 in India
US-based technology company InFocus is targeting revenue of $500 million by March 2016 and $1 billion by March 2017 in India. The company expects it mobile handset sales to drive its growth and contribute 60-70 per cent to its overall customer business during 2015-16. While InFocus has been present in India's video collaboration market for last 15 years, it is now trying to establish its presence in the consumer market with the launch of new range of smartphones, feature phones, tablets and TV. InFocus forayed into the Indian smartphone market in March 2015 through its partnerships with Snapdeal and Amazon and has already sold more than 250,000 smartphones in the country.
The company will start selling its India-assembled mobile handsets and tablets by September 2015. These handsets are being assembled at Foxconn’s Andhra Pradesh plant which has four dedicated lines for assembling InFocus’ mobile devices. The two companies are also planning to invest in a manufacturing facility in India.
