C-DOT launches four new products as part of the ‘Digital India’ week
As part of ‘Digital India Week’, the Centre for Development of Telematics (C-DOT) has launched four new products, including solar powered Wi-Fi and long distance Wi-Fi systems.
According to C-DOT, the solar powered Wi-Fi system can be used for smart cities, rural schools or panchayats and for extending broadband connectivity to remote and unconnected areas. It can also be used in ship-to-ship communications on the deep seas. Further, such technology can also be used for remote video surveillance and site monitoring, meteorological applications, sensor networks and disaster management networks.
Apart from these, C-DOT launched a Next Generation Network solution that can enable smooth transition from time division multiplexing (TDM) to voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP). C-DOT has also developed a 100 Gbps optical fibre cable that can transmit data up to a distance of 50 km without a booster or an amplifier.
