Ministry of Communications and IT launches BSNL Buzz and Speed Pay
The Ministry of Communications and IT has launched BSNL Buzz, a cellular broadcast service and Speed Pay, a mobile wallet service, for Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited’s (BSNL) customers in the country. Both the services are part of the Digital India programme and will support is providing better governance while digitally empowering the customers.
The Speed Pay service being provided in partnership with Pyro and Andhra Bank will give a boost to safe and cashless transactions. It is an open prepaid instrument which can be used as a means for purchase of goods and services at any card accepting merchant location (point of sale terminals). The service will also allow cash withdrawal at ATMs/customer service points. The service aims to create self-sustainable ecosystem in rural areas thereby expanding the banking services to the remotest part of the country.
The BSNL Buzz service on the other hand will provide a variety of interactive and easy to use services such as content, news, contests, subscription packs, coupons and advertising. Developed by Celltick, the Buzz service will deliver location-based information services in seven Indian languages - Hindi, English, Bengali, Tamil, Malyalam, Kannada and Telegu. The BSNL Buzz app will be embedded in every BSNL Mobile SIM card within the network enabling interactive cell broadcast.- Most Viewed
