Huawei to sell broadband networking devices in the open market in India
Chinese telecom equipment manufacturer, Huawei is planning to sell broadband networking devices including Wi-Fi modems, routers and dongles in the open market in India. Presently, the company sells its devices through telecom operators.
According to Huawei, the Indian broadband networking device market is estimated to be around 3.5 million units per annum. The move is thus targeted at attaining a market share of 40 per cent. The company has initially started selling a range of its broadband devices in 11 cities including Delhi, Chandigarh, Mumbai, Pune, Kolkata, Chennai, Bengaluru and Hyderabad. Moreover, it plans to provide cost-effective features for home as well as small office/home office (SOHO) customers across India through its distributor network on both online and offline platforms.
