November 15, 2006
BSNL has reduced STD rates for its One India plan users to Re 1 B per minute – a 60 per cent reduction over the current charge of Rs 2.40 per minute. With this, the company hopes to register a 65-68 per cent increase in STD traffic. BSNL will also expand its mobile network in Assam by 700,000 lines. As a counter response, Reliance Communications has launched a new service, Reliance STD Card, offering STD facility at Re 1 per minute.
