RCOM, VSNL and Bharti offer cheaper rate to carry ILD traffic

Reliance Communications, Videsh Sanchar Nigam Limited (VSNL) and Bharti Airtel have offered cheaper commercial rates compared to foreign carriers such as AT&T, Sprint and France Telecom to carry the majority of the ILD telephone traffic from BSNL. Indian operators emerged as the lowest bidders for 31 of the 50 sectors. Reliance has won the bid for 15 destinations, including the US, Canada, Malaysia and Pakistan. VSNL has won the bid for over 10 destinations including Canada, Russia and most of the Gulf countries.
