The Ministry of Home Affairs has reprimanded telecom operators for violation of licence conditions. Installation of cell sites by companies like BSNL, Bharti Airtel and Hutch have been considered too close to the international border. Sites within a 10 km radius of the border have raised concerns about misuse of signals or data by anti-national elements. The ministry has threatened to cancel licences if the operators do not rectify this problem immediately.
