RCOM launches ESOP scheme for employees

RCOM has launched an employee stock option (ESOP) scheme for all 20,000 employees of the company and its subsidiaries. RCOM will offer 17.5 million shares in what is described as the biggest ESOP scheme by an Indian telecom company till date. According to agency reports, the scheme will cost the company about Rs 9.5 billion (as per RCOM's closing share price of Rs 543.35 on the Bombay Stock Exchange on March 7, 2008).
