Vodafone in talks to buy Aktel stake (Bangladesh)

The world's largest telecom operator, Vodafone, is reported to be in talks with Aktel, Bangladesh's second largest mobile phone network, to acquire 30 per cent stake in the latter, for about $300 million. The telecom regulator of Bangladesh has reportedly given initial approval to Vodafone for buying the stake. The remaining 70 per cent of Aktel is held by Telekom Malaysia International.
