Telecom operators post financial results
Bharti Airtel, RCOM and Idea Cellular have announced their financial results for the April-June 2007 quarter. Bharti Airtel has posted a net profit of Rs 15.12 billion, a 100 per cent increase over the Rs 7.55 billion net profit it had posted for the corresponding quarter of the previous year. Its revenues have also increased from Rs 38.56 billion to Rs 59.05 billion.
Meanwhile, RCOM's net profit has increased by 138 per cent compared to the first quarter of 2006-07, to Rs 12.21 billion. Its revenues are up by 32 per cent at Rs 43.04 billion for the quarter ended June 30, 2007. Idea Cellular's gross revenue for the April-June 2007 quarter is Rs 14.78 billion. The company's profit after tax has more than tripled to Rs 3.08 billion from Rs 859 million for the corresponding quarter in 2006.
