Bharti Infratel reports 24.52 per cent year-on-year growth in net profits for the quarter ended September 2015

Bharti Infratel has reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 5.79 billion for the quarter ended September 2015, a growth of 24.52 per cent over Rs 4.65 billion during the corresponding quarter in 2014. This can be attributed to a decline of around 25 per cent in the company’s finance cost from Rs 764 million in the quarter ended September 2014 to Rs 574 million in the quarter ended September 2015. Moreover, the company’s total revenues increased marginally by 3.67 per cent from Rs 29.30 billion to Rs 30.38 billion during the same period.

Further, Bharti Infratel’s earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization (EBIDTA) grew by 7.21 per cent from Rs 12.20 billion in the quarter ended September 2014 to Rs 13.08 billion in the quarter ended September 2015. The company’s EBIDTA margin also improved by 1.5 percentage points, from 43.1 per cent to 41.6 per cent.  

Operating margin for the quarter ended September 2015 stood at 42.83 per cent compared to 41.47 percent during the corresponding quarter in 2014. Earnings per share (EPS) for the quarter ended September 2015 stood at Rs 3.05, registering a growth of 24.49 per cent on a year-on-year basis.

Meanwhile, Bharti Infratel has also incorporated a new subsidiary, Smartx Services Limited, which will focus on setting up Wi-Fi hotspots and transmission through optic fibre cables (OFC) to provide services to telecom operators and others on a sharing basis.
