Sterlite Technologies reports a net profit of Rs 230 million for the quarter ended December 31, 2014
Sterlite Technologies, service provider to the telecom and power sector, has reported a net profit of Rs 230 million for the third quarter ended December 31, 2014. The company’s net profit is up almost five times from Rs 50 million reported in the corresponding quarter last financial year.
Further, with the current order book standing at Rs 47 billion, the company has also reported revenue growth of 32 per cent at Rs 8.95 billion for the quarter ended December 31, 2014, up from Rs 6.8 billion in the corresponding quarter ended December 2013. On a sequential basis, the company’s revenue is up by 51 per cent from Rs 5.92 billion.
For the period under review, Sterlite Technologies’ telecom products and solutions business revenues stood at Rs 4.12 billion. The revenues were driven by highest ever quarterly volumes for the company’s optical fibre and optical fibre cable business at 4.6m fkm and 2.2m fkm respectively. Meanwhile, the company’s power products and solutions business revenues stood at Rs 4.61 billion, up by 61 per cent on quarter-on-quarter basis with conductor volumes at about 27,000 MT having started showing signs of improvement.
