China Telecom to issue shares

China Telecom is reportedly planning to issue new shares to foreign investors ahead of its 3G rollout later this year.
Potential suitors include Japan's NTT DoCoMo, Verizon Communications, France Telecom and SingTel. The company may also plan for the parent group to issue non-tradable shares to a strategic partner. Talks are believed to be at the preliminary stages.
