SK Telecom posts net income of KRW 346 billion in the first quarter of 2013
SK Telecom has posted financial results for the first quarter of 2013.
For the period under review, the service provider has registered net income of KRW 346 billion. On account of growth in 4G subscribers, B2B solutions business and merger of SK M&C with SK Plane, the company’s operating revenues stood at KRW 4.11 trillion.
For the first quarter of 2013, the operators’ mobile service revenues stood at KRW 2.73 trillion. For the period under review, SK Telecom’s operating income stood at KRW 411 billion due to the increase in depreciation costs on account of increased network capital investment and a rise in marketing expenses. And its earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortisation stood at KRW. The company’s capex for the first quarter of 2013 stood at KRW 351 billion.
SK Telecom added 68,000 new mobile subscribers in the first quarter of 2013. And its total subscriber base for the period stood at 27.03 million. Of the total subscriber base, 16.65 million are smartphone subscribers and 9.33 million are LTE subscribers.
